Simca 1307/8/9/Chrysler Alpine, 1975, Break proposal by Heuliez. Designed by Roy Axe, the 1307/Alpine won the European Car of the Year Award in 1976. The Simca version sold better in Europe than the Alpine did in the UK. Heuliez suggested a station wagon/break conversion but Chrysler demurred. After the sale of Chrysler’s European operations to Peugeot the cars were rebadged as Talbots (bottom pic) and remained in production until 1986.
