Saehan Bird de Luxe en Chile

(Publicado originalmente en mayo de 2016) ¡Al fin! Gracias a Juan Vidal, finalmente puedo mostrarles fotos de un Saehan (새한) en Chile. Esta marca coreana precursora de Daewoo fue vendida en Chile a principios de los 80, pero no queda prácticamente ningún vestigio de ella.

Finally! Thanks to Juan Vidal, I can at last show you pictures of a surviving Saehan (새한) in Chile. This brand, a precursor to Daewoo, was sold in Chile at the start of the 80’s, but there is almost no trace of that presence anymore.

Saehan Bird de Luxe 1981 - Rancagua, Chile

El Bird de las imágenes es variante coreana del auto T de la General Motors, un Isuzu Gemini u Opel Kadett hecho por Saehan (pueden ver lo que escribí sobre las variantes del auto T, incluyendo al Chevette, aquí). De hecho, el representante en Chile puso incluso un emblema de Opel en la parte trasera. Pueden ver ese detalle y el resto de las fotos, tras el salto.

The Bird on the pictures is the Korean variant of the T World Car from General Motors, an Isuzu Gemini or Opel Kadett made by Gemini (you can read my post on the many international iterations of the T car, including the Chevette, here). In fact, the Chilean company that sold these Saehan even put a little Opel emblem on the back, which you can see, along other details, in the rest of this post.

Según el listado de autos nuevos en una revista Mil Autos de 1982 (scans aquí) que tengo, aparece que Saehan también vendía el Royale y la camioneta 850 Max en Chile.
